How to make a QR code with a logo

A QR code with your logo in the center looks trustworthy and on-brand — and gets scanned more. The trick is keeping it readable. Here's how to add a logo without breaking the scan.

Why error correction lets you add a logo

QR codes have built-in error correction: they can still be read even if part of the pattern is covered or damaged. That's what lets you place a logo in the middle.

Use a higher error correction level (Q or H) when adding a logo so the code stays reliable.

How to add your logo

Choose your QR type, upload your logo, and pick your brand colors and dot styles. Keep the logo to roughly the center 20–30% so it doesn't cover too much of the pattern.

Use a logo with a transparent or solid background and good contrast against the code.

Always test before printing

Scan the final code with two or three phones in different lighting before any print run. If a phone struggles, shrink the logo slightly or raise the error correction.

Keep enough quiet space (margin) around the code.

Frequently asked questions

Will a logo stop my QR code from scanning?

Not if you keep it centered and reasonably sized and use high error correction. Always test the final code before printing.

What size should the logo be?

Roughly the center 20–30% of the code. Bigger than that risks covering too much of the pattern.

Is a QR code with a logo free?

You can design a branded code here; adding your own logo is part of the paid plans, which also include unlimited codes and analytics.
